Anxiety is an emotional response presented in the individual to situations perceived or interpreted as threatening or dangerous, although in reality they cannot be valued as such, this way of reacting makes anxiety harmful because it is excessive and frequent.
Example: Many individuals have an excessive fear that they are infected and feel or believe they have the symptoms, when they are not. They may call the emergency service many times a day, ask for the discard tests to be applied over and over again, developing dysfunctional behavior, creating a cognitive, behavioral and psychophysiological imbalance. These imbalances are expressed in different areas such as family, social or work.
We must differentiate the actions that cause us a fear that we assimilate as panic from the actions that would be a responsible and well-founded concern.
